Description of the matter:
Collision with marine berth, owned by the major oil exporter in Russia, during gale. The claim from the terminal, and its owner for more than USD 10M.
Our part:
Investigation of the causation of the accident, technical support of the lawyers appointed by the Shipowner, numerous assessments, constant negotiations, legal assistance in criminal proceedings against the vessel's Master.
Activity:
Constant technical asssitance to the civil lawyers, legal representation for the criminal part of the case, investigations, successful appeal of Rostransnadzor (a state body entitled for investigation of marine casualties) report.
Result:
The vessel was released from arrest against the amicable agreement concluded by the lawyers. The Master avoided enjailing, the criminal case was closed with minimum fine imposed.
